WIMNN provides various types of services to members.  Some of our services are free.  Other services are available for a fee. As a non-profit organization, fees are kept at a discounted rate and are used to administer the service.  Your support is important to WIMNN because it helps to support the overall development of the organization. Our existence depends on the support of members, sponsors and outside donations.  Thank You.

WIMNN Free Services

 

Quarterly Newsletter

Members receive a free online newsletter, published bi-monthly, that  provides informative news about the music industry, Industry interviews, spotlight on women in the music business, tip sheets and other topics about education and opportunities in music.

 

Network Directory Listing

 

A place for WIMNN members to connect with each other. As a member you receive a free listing in our membership networking directory  which will give you an additional resource for making contacts.

 

Free Email Service Receive free email service as a WIMNN member. Your email will be set up as
username@womeninmusic.com
. Use your private and permanent email account to send and receive mail from any computer, anywhere in the world, using any popular browser.

WIMNN  email is a full-featured email service with SPAM prevention and flexible attachment capabilities.

 

Calendar Announcements Members can submit music related events and activities to be posted on the WIMNN Events Calendar.

Mentor Program Members and outside individuals are invited to "Share the Light" by participating in WIMNN's mentoring program.   The program is designed to help support and strengthen the skills and progress of women in music.  Mentors can be women and men in the music business. There is no fee to become a mentor, but it does require that you be willing to commit time to provide your guidance and support.

 

CD Compilation Project Each year Women in Music will sponsor a CD compilation featuring outstanding female talent in the industry.  The year 2000 will be celebrated with a double CD package.  Submission details will be posted later this summer.

 

Women In Music Discussion Forums Online discussion group to connect with other women in music and discuss issues in the music industry.  Each discussion group will have a topic for discussion where members can exchange their thoughts, questions and ideas.

 

WIMNN Services with Fees

 

Business Network Advertise your business to the membership and the world with our Business Network Section.
Cost: $45.00 per year

 

Mentor Program Members seeking mentors can register with the Mentor Program to be teamed with a music business pro who can provide guidance and direction to help develop your career.
Cost: $25.00 registration fee

 

Grants, Funding, Scholarships Receive the latest information on where to find funding and grants for your projects. We do the research to create a list of companies, foundations, and individuals who provide funding to the arts. Information includes submission requirements, amount of funding available and deadlines for filing if applicable.
Cost: $15.00

 

CD Sales & Promotion WIMNN will promote your CD on our website along with along sound clips.  We will also provide a link to your email, website or other location.
Cost: $45.00 per year

 

Research Library Our research library was designed for students or anyone seeking information on the history of women in music.   We have received so many requests for historical information, that we decided to create a library with information and links to the history of  women in music. There will be a nominal fee (to be determined)to access the database.

Job Bank for jobs in the music industry.  Submit your resume and the industry businesses are invited to go on-line to seek potential job applicants.  Specific job postings will also be available

Music Courses Online We are currently exploring the possibility of offering various music courses online.  Courses will be related to the business of music and music development( such as songwriting) Course fees will vary depending on the type of course.
